Dairydell Advanced Obedience Video

About This Video

I am the instructor for this Advanced (Off-Leash) Obedience class. This short video was shot on the final day of a recent six week class.   ~ Lesley Zoromski, Trainer

We are walking in a field with a herd of sheep loose and we are challenging the dogs to stay with us and not go into prey drive — their natural instinct to chase. In the weeks leading up to this final day, these two students previously had been practicing with their dogs attached to them by a long line. In this clip, I had just instructed my students to take off the cords and use only their voice and wireless collar for backup. (It was like cutting the umbilical cord!) Just as they did that, as if on cue the sheep ran right past us! Everybody did as they had learned and the two dogs (one a German Shepherd and other Wolf hybrid) listened to their owners and did not run after the temptation. It was very cool. That is me hooting in the background — I was so proud of them, and the students were so proud of their dogs!
