Maddie's Mountain
A Private Dog Park
Dairydell is now accepting membership applications for its newest addition, a private membership dog park called “Maddie’s Mountain. It will be open Spring through Fall each year (weather permitting). As a special incentive, the first 100 new members will have their initial membership fee waived.
At Maddie’s Mountain, your dog will enjoy off-leash play in wide-open spaces with pre-screened playmates, fresh air and the beauty of the countryside. Because there are four play yards, you can choose which fenced area your dog enjoys most that day. One of these is a play yard just for little dogs so that they can enjoy their own tiny fun! Having a private membership means your dog can enjoy off-leash play without many of the difficulties presented at public access dog parks. As a member, you and your dog can have unlimited use of the park 6 days a week from 9am – Sunset during operational months. (Please note that gates close at 8pm and the park will be closed on Tuesdays for maintenance.)
To join, all dogs must first be registered at Dairydell, which includes providing proof of current vaccinations. To ensure social compatibility, a one-day stay at Dairydell is also required. For qualifying dogs, monthly dues of $35* will be charged automatically to the member’s credit card each month the park is open. (* $35.00 for up to 2 dogs. Additional dogs in one household are billed at $35.00 each per month). OUR CUSTOMARY PARK MEMBERSHIP FEE of $150 will be WAIVED for the first 100 members!
Rules to Play By
Membership to Maddie’s Mountain applies to all dogs in one household that meet our requirements for health and temperament and lets you use the dog park as often as you like during normal hours of operation. These rules are enforced for safety reasons so that you and your dog can enjoy the benefits of a private dog park.
-
The member must always be present to supervise his dog(s). Dogs need to be under your visual contact and voice control at all times.
-
You are responsible for any injury or damage caused by your dog. If your dog inflicts injury to another dog or dog owner, please give your name and phone number to the other dog owner before leaving.
-
If necessary, members may file a formal, written complaint about another member or dog. Formal complaints must be in writing and given to the Dairydell office.
-
Dairydell reserves the right to cancel dog park membership if it becomes necessary, or if a formal (written) complaint about a member or their dog is filed with the office by more than one person.
-
No inhumane treatment of dogs is allowed. This means no kicking, punching, hitting or poking with objects, slapping the nose, face or head.
-
Dogs or children are not allowed to be left unattended in vehicles, regardless of the temperature.
-
Each adult may have only 2 member dogs at a time in the dog park. All dogs using the park must be registered with Dairydell and proof of vaccinations need to be on file.
-
Intact males or female dogs in season or puppies under 4 months old are not allowed.
-
DOGS MUST BE WALKED ON LEASH to/from play yards. Dogs can be safely off leash in the play yards only.
-
The safest collar for your dog to wear in a dog park is a break-away collar. The next best collar is a flat buckle collar, fit just loosely enough so that you can pull it off the dog’s head without undoing it. Choke chains, pinch or prong collars are advised for walking your dog to/from the play yards, but are NOT allowed on the dog in the play yards. These collars can be very dangerous, as dogs can get tangled, injured or choked. A safely fitted flat collar (as above) is generally what we recommend. Electronic collars are not allowed, unless approved by Dairydell.
-
NO RUNNING in the play yards for safety reasons – except the dogs, of course! Although the play yards are maintained, they are in a natural setting and the surface is uneven and contains dips and holes. Owners enter at their own risk.
-
Members must wear shoes at all times in the dog park.
-
Non-member visitors or dogs are not allowed.
-
For safety reasons, children under 12 are discouraged from entering the dog park. All children must be closely supervised at all times and behave in an adult manner; no running, no chasing dogs, no petting of other’s dogs unless permission is granted by the owners first. No strollers please.
-
Be polite and clean up after your dog. Poop scoopers and receptacles are conveniently located throughout the dog park.
-
If your dog is annoying or aggressive to another dog or to its owner, you must take immediate action. This may mean moving your dog to another play yard, issuing a time-out for your dog, or even leaving the dog park.
-
Excessive barking can upset other dogs and change the energy in a playgroup. Please try to control your dog’s barking whenever possible.
-
Throwing toys or tennis balls can create competition, jealousy and fights between dogs. If you see this reaction, please refrain from this activity and let the dogs play amongst themselves.
-
ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING on the Dairydell property.
-
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES brought onto the Dairydell property.
-
NO DOG TREATS OR FOOD in the play yards. Treats or food can create jealousy and aggression between dogs. Instead, take a seat in the isle way, watch your dog play and enjoy your latte!
-
The play yards are open on rainy days during operational months; however, please note that our adobe clay turns to “glue” when wet. Use at your own inconvenience.
-
Lastly, have fun!
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Membership fees and monthly dues are not refundable in the event of membership cancellation, whether voluntary or by management. Monthly dues are charged automatically each month, regardless of the frequency of park use. No refunds or pro-ration for months you do not use the park or use it infrequently.
